Launch of SiA Inc. in Kono District
September 8, 2018
On September 8th, 2018 SiA Inc was launched in Koidu, Kono District. In a packed house with an audience of mostly women, Kono political dignitaries and civil society representatives, Dr. Ahmadu spoke about the main operations of SiA Inc. including, Sierra Leone Women are Free to Choose, SiA Magazine, Konocef Girls' Education Supplement Project and much more.
"Thank you Koidu for a magical night and successful launch of the many facets of SiA Inc. a nascent movement to empower the women of Kono, of Sierra Leone and wherever we are marginalized around the world! Great indebtedness to Honorable Saa Emerson Lamina for leading the way; a special thanks to our great Paramount Chief of Tankoro, Paul Saquee, for gracing the occasion at a moment’s call and delivering with a winning speech. Thanks so very much to the distinguished high table, Hon Kassegbama who spoke on behalf of the Kono Caucus in Parliament; Mr.Solomon Gbondo, Kono District Council Chairman; His Worship, Komba Sam, Mayor of Koidu City; Mr. T. D. Lansana, Chairman, Conference of Principals; the dynamic radio station managers of Kono; our elected female councillors (the next generation of Sierra Leone women in politics), the one and only Mami Queen, Madam Jenneh Wuah representing the Sowies; and our wonderful musicians, Aboy Cheweh and Kono Artists Union as well as traditional performers. A very special shout out to my First Lady of Kono, Di Mami Na Pawa herself, Madame Hannah Lamina aka 'Bondu', who chaired the occasion and finally God bless all the beautiful mothers of Kono in the house and in our District in whose honor we launched this birthday event. To the amazing celebrants, Berns Komba Lebbie, Mani Ngaujah, Sia Evelyn Nyandemo and Problyn Alpha, station manager of radio new song, May God continue to bless you and strengthen you as we press on to take Kono to the next level!"
